Trails had very heavy traffic again this weekend...but seem to be holding up even with a thinner base...the cold weather this week, helped keep the trails hard (it was 18 below zero when I left the snowmobile club meeting Monday night)

The Hiawatha is in fair to good condition with some snirt, and gravel in the high traffic areas...its in fair condition from hwy 8 to about where the highway 51 bridge crosses the trail..(nokomis area from hollys to thirsty giraffe is really churned up due to heavy traffic).trails definitely get better as u head north and west of Tomahawk...if u draw a line on a map from Harshaw, to Price County...north of that line seems to have more snow (the closer u get to highway 70, the deeper the snow gets, and its noticeable...its at least 4 inches more)...thus trails there were really nice, especially friday into early saturday.....we need more snow to touch up the high traffic areas, and we may get some Tuesday (fingers crossed)...got a quick burst of snow this morning...about an inch of fluff...we'll take it. It's gonna stay colder this week, so that should hold the snow we have, and the trails should groom up nice once again...but we really need some measurable snow to touch things up....so keep doing those snow dances...well...im heading out for a spin...I'll update what we get for snow this week.
