Onieda Co trails

Okay, after reading several forum threads, this sledder is really confused. I have a meeting in Wausau tomorrow afternoon after which my wife and I are heading to Hazelhurst for a long weekend. On Sunday, our plan was to hook onto the trailer and bring the sleds down home for the summer. Given the possibility of this big dump and knowing the Vilas Co trails have been officially closed, can anybody tell me if we can take a short ride north to Minocqua or south to Heafford Junction on the Bearskin Trail? First, is it "legal?" Then is it "ethical?" We want to do the right thing, but I don't know if this is pushing it. The last thing we want to do is create another black eye for sledders. I also don't want to hall all the gear (helmets, bibs, etc...) if it's just going to sit in the back of the Jeep. Thanks in advance for some guidance.

As to the Bearskin, this is taken right from the WI DNR website:

"Snowmobile use is only allowed on the Bearskin trail when Oneida County opens all trails in the county for snowmobiling."

So as was already posted and is true, Oneida Cty. is closed, so "legally" riding the Bearskin is not allowed.
