Hi everyone, any reports on Orr mn trails? Going on scheduled club ride...Nervous about minimal if any rideable snow.. My first time staying at Oversons in Orr... Looks like a nice place but there's a $58 cancel fee IRregardless if I cancel way in advance. Of course John Dee forcast for that weekend is a possible +24" for the UP!!!
Hmmmm. Lets see, dually carbide on my P O S ski doo are $70 each and hyfax are a million $$... so.... I may just divert to the U P and save money!!! This is the second time I've been pimped on a pre pay pre register club ride in sketchy mn!! I've learned my lesson-- I'll pay when I get there.. no rooms left? I'll sleep in my truck!! I'm not negative, I'm just bummed there's no snow!! 2 years ago we had so much snow I ALMOST got tired of it in april!!
Lemme know what you guys and gals see up there. Thank you in advance...

Maybe you should look into riding south for a "nice" change???? If this snow system goes south or east that area around Caledonia should be great. I rode down there several times and they have great trails and awesome areas to check out.

I've always wanted to try S E mn. I hear the trails are great with the hills and valleys and when there's snow the clubs do a great job of grooming. Was In Rochester mn last week, looks like they had some decent snow

Put on a few hundred miles over the past 5 days around the Cook, Tower area. The state has not groomed as of today on the Arrowhead and Taconite trails. The Cook trail ( Bearskin) was great on Friday. The local Club has groomed the trails on the east end of Vermilion. The lake trail on the east side of Vermilion is staked. There are a lot of ice heaves on the east end of Vermilion. We have about a 8-9 inches on the ground. The swamps are froze and the state should start grooming soon I would guess.

We are planning going up to Crane Lake area around the 23/24th - usually ride to Ash Na Kam area and up to International Falls sometimes.. Right now in looking at the cam's the snow looks thin and trail reports indicate that groomers only have been out to knock down stuff vs actually doing any grooming due to lack of snow. Also have a room booked in the UP as a back up at this point. Those going up there this weekend please report back on how it was! Thanks!!

Got up to Orr thurs night, light snow from Cloquet all the way up, at midnight looked like about 3" of new snow. Anxious to get out and ride this morning, I'll give a report if I have a cell signal out riding. Looks like we got lucky!!!

we did get lucky!!!!

Good snow, NO dirt and rocks!!! But... the swamps arent quite frozen, so we rode on quite a few ungroomed trails... But we had snow!!! when we stopped for gas, track only had pure white snow on the track.... No
dirt or mud !!! lake vermillion, and other lakes smooth and good thick ice, we ran into a groomer that said he just staked the trail on lake Vermillion Thursday... conditions kinda ruff about half of the trails up here till the groomers can get out.. once they can get out without sinking in the swamps and getting eaten by Gators, trails should be great!!!!
