Ottawa National FR 2270 - Trail 109 washed out

Not sure what the timeline of a possible repair may be but there's been a washout on a pretty important section of trail. This is just south of Silver Mountain on the descent down to the bridge over the Sturgeon River. This is the section north of Bear's Den and not the hill near Sturgeon River Campground that was washed out a number of years ago:

There is a photo of the damage on the Ottawa National Forest Facebook page, sizable damage, in a place without an easy trail bypass.

that stinks

Took several years too repair this section the last go around. This also gives Baraga Tourism Bureua another excuse not to groom their north section of 109. Same way with the washout north of Kenton, several years to repair. Sucks!

Losing 109 from Twin Lakes to Sidnaw for the winter would be a huge problem at least to me and my buds that day RT Phelps to the Greenland 13 loop back to TL then on to Sidnaw for last fill up home to Phelps.

The last time this happened, you could barley get around it on the inside of the incline. Don't know about this time around? At least 2 years to correct would be my guess. Baraga misfit groomers love this as they don't like this end of their trails any how. This is true even when the conditions are great for grooming!

Does anyone know if there is still a way to get from Watersmeet/Bruce Crossing area to Baraga on UTV without a major detour?
