Oxygen Helmet

My oxygen helmet fog up anytime the temperature is at 10° or below Fahrenheit. I have tried the vents and multiple positions and nothing helps. Any suggestions?

Are you plugged in? The oxygen will fog if not. If you are plugged in and still fogging I would test to be sure the shield and or power supply is working.

I agree with toddpolaris mine never fogs unless the power supply is not working for whatever reason.

Mine fogs also when I start going. So I do not latch it starting out until I stop breathing heavy (excitement of hitting the trails). The new “Flow” shield has a small vent in it at the center bottom. Some have been able to actually find that shield and swap it for the original no vent shield.

It is a skill to open just enough and not leave it open too long or the rubber gaskets ice up and then the shield gets stuck. Did that a bunch of times a couple weeks ago in -25 temps.

It's those negative temps that I really love the oxygen. Such a nice warm helmet. I got the flow shield and it helps on those warmer days.

They have some wiring issues at times and even the back of helmet peace can go bad as the dealers stock both. Mine I’ve had the controller cord replaced 2 times. When it starts failing power will go on and off and wife asks what’s with the light on back of helmet which for me has been cord. And it slowly starts fogging because it is only working part time.

So your actual controller went out? I replaced mine last year (that 3 days there was snow). My second one was intermittent first run this year. I replaced the cord to the helmet plug this season two times yet testing their resistance at home they seem fine.

Mine was obvious plug it in and wiggle the cord around and green light blinks so knew it was something in the cord area. Under warranty still so just brought back to dealer

Yeah for what this helmet cost seems like Ski-Doo went really cheap with some of the components. I have had multiple cords go bad. I have one going bad now but when I delete the small cord that goes from the plug on the sled to the controller it works fine. I always thought it was the controller going bad now I am wondering if it's the small cable that malfunctions. The really bad part is no cords to be found at least the old one with the controller is on backorder. I am not sure what's up with Ski- Doo and having electric parts in back order. My brand new sled that I had for one day has been sitting at the dealer for a month waiting for a pickup coil. Hopefully it will be here Thursday but not holding my breath.

Yeah, well hermie, welcome to the world we now live in. It doesn't seem to matter what it is, or who's brand is on it. Worse part is that Covid 19 knocked out many, many small suppliers, and never to return. Sadly I don't see it getting better anytime soon. If ever?

Unfortunately old Abe I think you are correct. Funny thing about the sled, ski Doo changed the part # a couple of years ago on the pick up coil now all of sudden they are failing. If I had to guess the part # change is due to getting it from a different vendor.

Yes sir it's just a bummer. This is the time of year I really look forward to all year. I just never thought I would buy a new sled in January and then never seen it again until March. Honestly though at this point I am wondering if I will see it by May. It's a good thing Doo didn't do anything on the 26 models or I would really be loosing my mind. My 22 lost a fuel pump but that got fixed fast. I have had a handful of Doo's that were built before the plandemic and they were all bullet proof. The last 2 I bought after not so much. If I were a betting man Doo has the part but they are all being used for production so none for the ones that don't run out of the factory.
