pellet stove

I have a Breckwell Big E stove. Brought it in 2006, very well made, heats great. Hopper holds 120 lbs. (3 bags) IMO Marth brand pellets produce the most heat. Menards sells them under their label, Fleet farm sells them under Superior label, but all say produce by Marth in the fine print.

Not sure about the stove. We have a Lopi, that has given us good service. I tend to stick with the Menard's hose brand of pellets (Marth). Very good pellets. The stove did NOT like the Tractor Supply house brand. You'll have to find a readily available brand of pellets, that your stove will "like".

Maybe stop over at Hearthdotcom and see if there is any info on the stoves you're looking at?

If the garage is insulated well, especially the ceiling it may work but expect it to take a good while to come up to temp. I tried to heat my garage with one a few years back and couldn't do it. I only had r board on the ceiling though.

I have one in my house. It eats electricity so we don't use it much plus LP is much cheaper now. I have an LP furnace in the garage that is wall mounted and has electronic ignition so no pilot light.

Keep in mind most insurance companies won't allow solid fuel stoves in garages/outbuildings. Farmers Ins was the exception but their rates were significantly higher.
