Phazer for wife

Hey everyone,
I am looking for a newer sled for my wife and I am not sure what would be the best. This will only be her second season riding and last year she road a 2002 mxz 500 that we just sold. She is a smaller woman and I thinks that a newer sled with the more up right seating position would work better for her. I have been looking at the newer phazer, firecat 500 or a Rev 600. Any input or suggestions would be great,
Thanks

My wife love's the Rev 500ss she is smaller 5'2 and we have a newer yamaha that sits because she says it's to hevey & hard to drive. she put 5K miles on the Rev so I just got her a XP tnt light whight and a great ride.
no need for the tazer yet, but there are days I thought about it.

Be careful here to put her on a sled that has some wind protection. Older sleds had it, and the newer sleds tend to ignore it.

If we get a real winter like some are suggesting, one of the best ways to turn her off of riding is to put her on a sled that doesn't protect her enough and she decides this isn't fun anymore.

So make sure that you study the ability to add wind protection so when and if she does get cold you can cure it without having to dump the sled.

If you want to make sure she keeps riding, get her a sled that has a 12 volt battery and then get her some Gerbing heated clothing and she will be happy to be out in any kind of cold temperture. I bought it for my wife and we have been out in 30 below and not a care in the world about temperture. It looks expensive but saves on extra clothing that you would need to stay warm under similar conditions and cuts down on the amount of stuff you have to bring with you just in case. We of course also use it for motorcycling. Its the only way to fly. Just the twist of the dial and you can cover a very wide spectrum of temperture difference. No more long johns and sweaters and fleece this or that, and special parka's

I would recomend a Vector over the Phazer. The Phazer does get pretty cold. The newer Vector with the Delta II chassis has a pretty good rider forward position without being too aggrestive. My wife loves her's 08 Vector LTX.

I would suggest the Skidoo TNT or and older 500SS REV or XP. My wife had a coulpe REV 500SS's and now she has a 2010 600 Summit 146! So for her the 500SS worked out great for BOTH of us!!

some good points already made.....

my wife is also small.... maybe 5' 4" with her boots ON. She is currently on a 06 sabercat 500 EFI, it has been a good sled for her. But she rode mine (06 firecat 600 efi) and now she does not like hers. She now says hers is a slow cat, and yes I would agree. But her complaint about mine was the short windshield. The wind was hitting her basically in the throat (just what booondocker mentioned).

If you are thinking about a cat I would suggest the 600 over the 500.......a little more $$$ but I don't think it would be to much more nore would it make the sled any harder to control/handle.

Maybe a 2006 or 2007 Rev 600sdi. Mine has been flawless since new and the wife loves it. I have 7500 miles on now. I just sold her old Summit and am trying to find her a Rev now.

I would go '06 or newer. That way you don't have to worry about any ring issues. The 500 ss (600) and 600 SDI motors are pretty much bullit proof. Nice machines. I have an '07 600 Blizzard and love it.
