My brother brought me his old phazer with a clutch problem I've never seen before. Hoping someone can help. He was running the sled and it started to creep when stopping like the primary wasn't disengageing. I figured it was just dirty/dry. I pulled it apart, cleaned and lubed it. All appears to be ok,sliding half moving freely, and is against the stop when open. The problem is I only have about 1" between the bottom of the sheaves, not enough to disengage the belt. Could one of the sheaves gotten displaced on the shaft? I've had hundreds of clutches apart for repair and have never seen anything like this happen. Thanks in advance for any help this forum can provide.
