Here's a series of photos I captured at this weekend's Vintage Show in Menasha, Wisconsin. This is sponsored by the Low Buck Riders and is an annual event. If you like the Old Iron then you'll probably enjoy the following pictures.

I've loaded 4 Threads as it appears that 5 is the maximum number of pics per posting.

Thanks for posting all the pictures! My first sled (1981 TXL 340) looks similar to to Indy TXL that is partially visible next to the black Mercury photo DSCF0741.jpg. Would have liked to stop by today but I had to stay home with my 3 young kids.

Love the photos! My hats off to the people who put in the time to restore and preserve these machines. While you have to wonder what some manufacturers were thinking, they are all pieces of snowmobile history.

I owned three Chaparrals (72, 73, 74) so it was neat to see one included in the shots. Of course, now I wish I had kept at least one. I'm sure many members wish they had kept some of the vintage models that they rode when they weren't vintage.

Nice pics. Where are the sleds shown at? I use to live in Menasha, before my sledding days, on the corner of 47 and DePere street

Skidooski,

The show was at the Stone Toad, the corner of S. Oneida and Manitowoc Rd. in Menasha. They used to have it at Waverly Beach and park them on the ice then at the end of the show they'd start'm up and go for a Vintage Ride. They can't do that at the present location.

very nice, thank you! pic of that gilson brought back some fond memories of our great dane that would keep up with it in 5" of snow!

Awesome pics...thanks. I love looking at the old sleds. It brings back so many memories. My first sled was a 1965 or 1966 Arctic Cat (red & white with a polar bear on the side). What a beast! Last year I was taking a short cut off a groomed trail in the UP around Delta/Alger/Schoolcraft counties when I came upon a parade of old iron. I pulled my sled over and enjoyed for about 45 minutes to an hour. I believe it was the Longriders relic run. They were heading to the Boot Lake bar from the Jack Pine. It was very entertaining.

I can remember as a kid, riding into the old "tin shack" on the Charcoal Grade north of Newberry on the back of the old mans Bolens Huski.

Back in those days, if you rode 20 miles in a day, you had gone a long ways!!!
