Hoping to keep things fresh on the John Dee Forums during the summer months, here's a few pictures from the weekend on Winnebago.

After spending all of last week working at the E.A.A. AirVenture in Oshkosh we headed out Sunday morning to avoid the crowds. The first is a view of the western shore headed south near the mouth of the Fox River.

A bit of sadness as a Lady from Minnesota died when the Sea Plane she was riding in crashed on takeoff. This barge is anchored over the crash site to recover the plane early this coming week.

Not much of a picture but this is a Ford Tri Moter from an era when Ford also built airplanes.

And a few hundred people showed up with the same idea as us (to get away from the crowds)
at Streich's Beach southeast of the airport.

Have a good week everyone!

Beautiful day on water, bit rough coming crossing over from high cliff. We got they're pretty early but anchored in bay where planes line up with runway, right off of where Ardy and ed's is.
When air show started we were right inline when one blue angels blasted over us coming from east. Unreal seeing that blast by ya, it was low!!! It did loop around again and i did get a video but had landing gear down and was much slower! Lol

Yes, I also saw the Navy's Blue Angels on Friday, a terrific show, just incredible they can fly that fast and that close. Maybe not as loud as a fly-over at Lambeau because of the bowl but darn close. Funny thing is...you hear them before you see them at a show like AirVenture.

I agree, a fine day to be on Winnebago, some chop coming home but that's to be expected.

Gary - I think I was parked just to the North of you at Strietches on Saturday. I was in the group of 8 walleye type boats. Mine was a 21' skeeter with a 300 yami on the back. We came in fairly late in the day (son's baseball game).

Sure, I remember your group. FWIW, they raised that crashed plane Monday morning with the barge and crane and transferred it to a flatbed near Ardi & Eds.
