Going to be staying in Munising and trailering over to Newberry mid March. Just wondering if there is anywhere to unload over there. Going to ride to the Falls.

Why not ride from Munising? I know a number of folks who have made it a day trip....a long day, but still a single day...it's roughly 200 round trip depending upon which trails you take...

Staging area just north of town on M-123, north side of the RR tracks, west side of the highway.
I wonder if that area is close to the Display of a wrecked older yellow skidoo that they have enclosed in a display case with a saying that says
“on the trail there’s no line
your side is yours
and my sides mine”
It was quite a few years ago that I remember seeing that. I wonder if it’s still there

That's the spot. I believe the phrase is "On this trail there is no center line but the right side is mine", but I'm probably getting it wrong.

TASA's meeting minutes say the display was put up in 2000. I recall it back then, wasn't sure how much longer it had been up before then as that was about the time I started sledding that area.

From what I read/recall about the cause of that machine: "That sled was flat out going across a lake, rider hit the bank and launched into some big trees. No braking before hitting the bank"..

And:
"The black helmet was from a guy who crashed a few years ago in Newberry. His wife donated the wrecked sled to the local EMS"

You can see it with Google Street View, but that's from 2009.

Attached photo is somebody else's that was sent to me.

If your trip is in mid March, you probably should drop further north of Newberry. The area around town gets a little thin in March.
