plastics for apex-how do you paint dye ect.. the plastics or can you?

I have an 06 apex and am looking to ditch the factory look and I really want to go with white, but I am unsure of how to get the side plastyic panels white, they are ruff textured and I'm sure if I paint them they will chip, the paint will peel and pretty much look like crap. Any suggestions would be great Thanks!

There is no paint that will stick to the Apex panels. If you should figure out a way to change the color you will destroy the re-sale value of the sled. There was a guy that radically altered the appearance of an '07 RTX. It has been for sale on this site and Totallyamaha and more than likely some other places also- FOR TWO YEARS. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Most 'beholders' prefer stock.

Not sure if it would work or how good it would work for your application, but Krylon makes a spray paint for plastics called Fusion. I used it for small plastic pieces and it worked good.

Dont do it you will hate yourself !!!! Easyest way is to Visite your local print shop and bust out your wallet and have them skin it at least it will peal off if you get sick of it ..I know it would look cool but think about it a bit how much do you run into brush and what not that the stock side pannels dont show all those cute scratches right now .. In some instanceswill kill resale value if paint is used -- side pannels are not cheep .. Skin it -- basicly have vinal decals made to fit over your stock covers !! On everyones favorite site e-bay in snowmobile parts ((Yamaha apex))they have really sweet looking skins in there that will change the look of the hood- and upper side pannels but not cheep but better than paint !! Good Luck on that one !!
