I've been talking about this quite a bit in the SnoScoop, but the bottom line is, a polar vortex has been in place across northern North America all season, but has been weak and grossly overshadowed by a giant one in eastern Siberia and Alaska. There are ideas that by the second half of next week, the polar vortex across N. America will gather strength and drop our temps to average, maybe even below and bring good LES and probably some clipper snows to the rest of the northern Midwest.
