polaris 600 idle issues

Went for a ride today with my 2010 600 RMK. Sled started fine and ran great at first. Noticed about 30 miles in it wasn't idling well. I'd come up to a stop sign and it would idle rough sometimes. One time when going to reverse it kept quitting. Got home and let it run for a bit and it got worse. It idles rough enough that at times the speedo screen would go blank and then come back like it had been shut off. The lights would flicker/etc... So I tried changing plugs, started up great, ran perfect for about 5 minutes, and then back to the same old issue. I can't even get it to move now, it'll start and sputter but cant get the RPMs up, it'll just quit as I give it gas. The plugs I took out were real wet also.

Any ideas?

Is it carb or cfi? What did plugs look like, was one wet other looked fine. I ask cuz if it's carb sounds like how my iq ran when the main jet fell out of carb into the bowl.

Its CFI. I went out after letting it sit for a couple hrs and started it and it ran fine for 4-5 minutes and then started doing it again. It seems to be really loading up at idle and if you sit and keep trying to feather it to get the RPMs up and they actually come up then it runs fine.

Check the throtle body boot to the motor. I just had to replace one that was all tore up and leaking bad. Did you have a high idle at one time and lowerd it with the idle screw? If so then its a trip to the dealer to reset the TPS. Do not touch the idle screw on any polaris fuel injected sled.

Boots look fine. I've never touched the idle screw. Started it up yesterday and it runs fine for about 5 minutes and then it starts doing it. A suggestion a friend made is the stator might be going, once it warms up it can't provide enough power for the plugs to fire which is why both plugs were very wet when I changed them. Also the display acts like it loses power and resets itself along with the lights flickering. But when you can get the RPM's up the display and lights are just fine. Don't think its the voltage regulator as I replaced that a couple yrs ago and its not acting the same way.

Thanks for the ideas. Its in the truck on its way to the dealer this afternoon. I'm very confident in my ability to do any mechanical repairs but here I don't know what the repair is so I'd just be throwing parts at it.

Just a FYI, with the carb boots most of the time you cant see if the part is bad untill its removed for inspection. I am not saying that this is your problem but it is something that needs to be looked at on all sleds now. When you replaced the voltage reg did you use a OEM part or the after market part. I have had problems with the after market ones.

Got the word from the shop friday and its a wiring harness issue. They said they could wiggle it and make it do it and they could also stop it. So the retaped up the harness nice and tight and said now they can't make it do it anymore. So i could either spend $400 to replace the harness plus labor or try it like this. I will try it like this for awhile to se how it goes.
