Polaris 800 Fuel Wire Plugged or Unplugged?

I cannot remember if the fuel wire should be left plugged in or left unplugged? I want to have it run best on non-ethanol gas. Should have written it down in the spring.

Plugged in only if you have non-ethanol Premium. Anything under 93 Octane and you should not plug it in.

IF you want it to "RUN BEST" as you stated........................

Extend the wires to a simple on/off switch on the dash/console area.

Wires plugged/ switch on = 5% LEANER

That's like changing from 500 MAIN JETS to 475's.

Switch it on 5% LEAN, take a full throttle pass across the lake and read your plugs and piston wash and make your own determination.

I wouldn't switch plug / un-plug the wires based SOLELY on Ethanol/non-ethanol as there's a lot of other factors involved, and you need to FINE-TUNE your own sled, if you want it to run BEST.

And if you really want it to run BEST, buy a PC-5 (or PC-3) and get an annual subscription to DYNOTECH, use Jim's "mapping" for your 800

Oh there is a difference. The 2012 Pros have it very easy to read labeling. Also check your owners manual. Never trust an answer about your sled in here. Good intentions a plenty, but a call to the dealer or a peek in the manual is far safer.

no. no difference on my POS sled didnt run any diff.
Every poo that I have owned with the switch or plug has had a very noticable difference in power if 93 octane or 87 octane. 99% of the time I run 93 octane and the timing set for it. Since 3 members in here bought sleds from me it is hard to say I show no mercy on a Poo liberty 600, 700 or 800. Never got to cash in on a new motor either. Could be luck, could be the preventive maintenance. On the 2012 Pro RMK800 I have I will run out west with the ethonol setting on. Because of the amount of stations that carry ethonal out there. In MI. the 93 premium is NOT suppose to have any ethanol, while mid grade has up to 10%. Since I have no way of telling out west I will take engine precautions and give up a touch of power. I got this information from the owner of Lemmen Oil Co. during conversation, as I was installing Italian marble in his Yacht 2 summers ago. They own the Admiral chain of gas stations and a ton of Shell stations in Michigan.
