i read lot of good stuff on here about brp modular. but i can't find much on the af from polaris.is it a newer helmet? i'm leaning towards af with electric shield because of price.any feed back i would like thanks

I have the Polaris AF helmet. Then the shield broke. Was gonna put a heated one on it. But dealer couldn't get me one before the weekend so I just bought a whole new helmet. I still have the AF helmet if you are interested.

I sold my AF this summer for $2.00 at the wife's garage sale. The BRP Modular that takes the panty liners works great if you use all the parts (snorkel) correctly. My modular is a 2005. not sure about the newer models.

I've had many helmets of different brands. Three years ago I bought the BRP BV2S modular and it is great. No electric shield needed. No fog or frost EVER. not a single air leak. You do have to change the "pantie liner" as polarisrider said but usually only once about every 5-600 miles.
The retractable amber or smoked lenses are a great bonus to for sunny and dusty days.

I purchased the BRP modular last year, not the BV2s, but I am overly happy with it. Never had a fog/frost issue and the retractable sunglass visor is great. I wear contacts and my eyes are a little sensitive to light and this completely solves the problem. I did purchase a heated shield with it but never had to use it, probably dont need to spend the extra money on one for this helmet. Its warm and comfortable. Only issue I had was that I lost my breathe guard during a stop, it must have unbuckled and I couldn't find it. I since ordered a new one and backup just in case.

BRP Mod II all the way! The "panty" thing is a schlep but you can't beat the tinted shield, wide vision shield and the open face option (of course). Good luck.
