Polaris DET

Went out for a ride today on the river and about 20 miles into the ride the sled cut rpms way down and displayed DET on the readout. Its a 2015 Polaris indy 600 with almost 5000 miles on it. I was running 90 mph+ almost the whole time up till it cut the rpms. I pulled over and shut it down. I let it sit for a minute or so and then pulled it back over and it started like normal. sounded great and nothing was on the screen. So I rode back home and everything ran great. I know that the DET stands for Detonation Elimination Technology and that it will cut the rpms down below 6000 if it detects a problem. Any idea what this problem it? Oil and antifreeze levels were fine and the temp never got over 129 degrees. Could it be too high of a speed for too long?(like I said earlier, was running 90-100+mph) Also I looked in the owners manual and it showed a chart of possible problems. mainly dealing with fuel. The tank is pretty close to empty. I run ethanol mid season and non-ethanol during first few tanks and last few. I haven't changed the fuel filter yet (recommends every 2000 miles or two years) would this play a factor? The chart gave possibilities of bad gas, wrong fuel setting, plugged fuel filter, water in gas. Any help or suggestions would be great!
thanks

all those
fuel filter
bad gas
water in gas tank
it probably sensed a knock then you shut it down and it cleared. i would change filter and take all the gas out of the tank just to be sure

At 5k miles that fuel filter is WAY over due. Find out if you have a fuel pickup sock in your tank. If so, its way over due as well. Some Polaris models have the sock and some dont.

If your using ethanol gas and going thru tanks I probably wouldnt be to concerned about water.
If your engine is healthy, it should be fine to run whatever speeds for long periods.
Bad gas is possible, but IMO a WAY over used excuse.

Start with with filter. Aftermarket fuel filters are a quarter of the price of OEM, and works just as well.
