Polaris dragon assault rush comparison

Went to my local Polaris dealer today to test ride some sleds. He had a 2011 polaris 800 assault switchback with 144 track, a 2009 polaris 800 dragon 138 inch track and a 2010 polaris rush 121 inch track. I rode the assault first and what a sled. This thing just rocks, lots of power rides very good, works well in the powder making power turns. I could be going 70 down the trail and hammer it and it would still lift the front end up, what a blast to ride. It also handled a ruff section of trail very well I could hardly feel the bumps. I then rode the 2009 800 dragon, nice sled but not as fast as the assault and it did not ride as nice, however I could make powder turns easier with this sled than the assault. I then rode the 600 rush. Kind of a disappointment or maybe because I rode the other 2 faster sleds first because it seemed slow like my 2000 polaris triumph would kick butt on it. The ride was not as expected either. it threw me around more in a ruff section I rode and did not seem to transfer weight very well. It work ok in the powder. I guess I would pick the 2011 assault for sure with the 144 inch track.

Cool! Must have been a blast to switch around like that.

I will say though the Rush always takes more time to setup so IMO you may not have had the full effect of what that chassis can do. It really is awesome but the downfall is if you have it setup for you, but let your buddy try it, and he weighs 15lbs more/less than you it seems like a totally different machine. SO Sensitive.

That's what the dealer also said that the Rush is not set up for my weight so I don't disagree it probably does ride great, we just did not take the time that day to adjust it. That may be a good excuse to stop again and ask for another test ride and do some adjusting.

All I can say is I agree!
I picked up my new Switchback Assault yesterday and went out and put on some miles with my son and his friends. I have some fine tuning to do yet, but I was really impressed with the entire package.
