Polaris front skid shock bottoming.

I have a 2008 dragon. I tightened the limiter straps to get better bite on the front end. I like the results, but now I seem to be bottoming out on the front shock (on the rear skid), especially if I sit up towards the tank. I looked at the adjustment collar on the shock and it seems like it's tightened up pretty far already. Should I be loosening it for more travel?

time for shock rebuild?

I'm no suspension expert but sounds like you need to have the shock recharged/rebuilt. I've found shocks require service about once a year or every 1,000-1,500 miles or so.

The limiter strap controls the travel of the front arm, and the shock connected to it., if you pulled it up, the shock can't go out any farther anyway. The collar is for pre-load. You can tighten the collar up till its out of travel, you won't hurt it. By pulling up the limiter strap, you have removed some of the available travel of the suspension. Thus making it seem to bottom out sooner.
