Can someone answer my question on a Polaris front suspension shock. Someone turned the plastic ring to far up on shock, it is on an angle and cross threaded. Should it be ok to ride? Will this break, do you have to drop suspension to change front shock? Its a 2003 Polaris classic 600 touring. What shock do you recommend. After market or Oem? Thanks

And

Assuming you are talking about the front shock in the rear suspension.

The shock can be removed with the skid frame in the chassis but if you don't have a good lift that will get you up eye level it may be easier to just take the skid frame out.

Will it break? If the spring is bottoming out (coil bind) it probably will.

If it's a non-rebuildable shock genuine Polaris is probably your best buy.

And, If all thats wrong is the plastic adjuster nut you can buy that part from Polaris and replace just that.
