Polaris Fusion/IQ skid

I need a new rail for my sons 06 600H.O. Fusion w/IQ suspension, a new one is around the $250 mark... So I got on ebay and noticed I can buy a complete "used" skid for around $230-$280 the problem Im running into is, they are either 05 900 fusions or 09 IQ etc..... Nothing is exactly our year or model. Question is, during the Fusion-IQ transition what are the same skids? Polaris Parts House has alot of them being different model numbers by 1 or 2 digits but to the naked eye alot of them look the same. Any input would be great.

It broke right behind the bracket for the idler wheel, so I took that bracket off and had a stiffener welded into place (we were heading north the next day) honestly thought it would hold... no such luck

skid

to answer your question, any of the above will work, the skid's from a 2005 fusion 121 are the same geometry as the 2016 indy 121 with the same mounting points/brackets, etc. In fact you could also go with a 136 if you had that track and wanted to add a tunnel ext, they bolt right up too.

the only difference between the years are going to be shock and spring packages. If you can find a full skid with good rebuilbable shocks then do that. Some of the best packages came in the 09-10 era dragon's, they were using .359 springs and walker rebuildable shocks. more recently then went to the .347 spring and a lot of guys on the indy's are springing up to the .359's, just my 2 cents, although it really depends on how big the kid is, 150-160 the .347's are just right, anything over 180 (and assuming aggressive riding) the .359 spring's are more suitable, can be ran on a lower setting.

they are not all the same. just went through this last year. The rear slot for the idler wheel bar is in a different location on the IQ chassis. make sure you get the one for your model unless your replacing both sides.

Just my 2 cents

just to clarify I am talking about the rails not the skid.

it has the IQ chassis, so I guess Im going to try and buy a total "used" skid... several of them dont come with shocks but for the right price I would buy a new shock and get rid of my Fox shock.. thanks for all the input, btw just got back from Panama City Beach, wife made me blow half my hours of vacation time on swimming. I informed her that wont happen again
