Polaris IQ owners - check this

I just noticed after removing my tunnel bag from my '10 IQ that the plastic cover that covers the taillight is forming a groove into the aluminum tunnel! This is the damage after 1,000 miles.

Not a good thing if left as is since part of the tunnel is the heat exchanger. You may want to check your sled out. One solution would be to put a rubber or nylon washer under each of the plastic fasteners that secure the cover to the tunnel to isolate the two surfaces.

Can you post a couple more pics but back out the pic. a little bit. That should not be moving around like that. I would shed the sticker that most no one can read. French??

I just happened to have mine off last weekend to put on a new led tail light and I had none of that on mine. Older sled, maybe they changed something on the I.Q.'s.

Here's a couple more shots. Stickers? Only noticeable when the storage bag is removed.

Only thing that comes to mind for the cause is that the plastic cover was held in place by plastic rivets from the factory, but when I installed the tunnel protector kit, they provide push-in plastic "darts" which may not hold it as secure as the rivets would. (BUT, my previous '08 IQ never had this issue with the same type of fasteners.)

I will have to check my tailight assembly on the 2010 switchback as well. I know I have broken to sets of those plastic push rivets that attach the tailight to the chassis. As of now I have no rivets on the side closest to the seat. Will check this weekend!

I have the same type of wear on my 2009 IQ. It was a left over from last year, so mine is after just one season of riding. I also installed the tunnel protectors so i got the darts too.

To update, I removed the plastic cover, cleaned up underneath it, and when I re-installed the cover I placed a rubber washer between the 6 mounting holes on the cover and the tunnel, which isolates the plastic from the aluminum. Also was able to re-use the plastic fasteners and they fit snug now.

My other option was to get out the Dremmel and trim the plastic, but the above "fix" looks to be adequate.

Nice shine on the bumper and tunnel! I'm always jealous of you guys with the patience to do that. I tried a couple times, but I just get tired too fast.....
