Polaris Resonator / Silencer

I have a 2002 Polaris 700 XC SP and the resonator / silencer has an issue.

There appears to be an elbow with a socket to receive the exhaust pipe at the inlet of the resonator, well the elbow broke of inside of the resonator (I shook it out) and the pipe doesnt seal now. The elbow has been bouncing around in the resonater and is beat up.

Obviously I can get another resonator, but anybody have any other solutions?

Thanks!

If you have "skills" with metal, you could cut it open, weld the broken piece back in place, and then weld it shut again.

Sounds like a pain, but would only cost you time if you had the skills and tools to do it.

Had this happen on a trip in northern WI several years ago to my '02 XC. We stopped at a auto parts store and found an exhaust reducer/adapter that would fit the pipe and into the silencer. They let me use a hacksaw to cut a portion of the end off to make it fit properly, then just used the same springs to make it fit and stay in place.
I ended up putting an SLP can on it. My buddy had the same problem so I gave him the adapter and it is still on his sled after 3 years. Works fine.
