Polaris Rush

I am looking for input from anyone who owns or has rode the Rush. Looking for the good and bad points as well. Also I am a 200lb. rider with gear, what settings are working for the rear suspension? If you wouldn't mind sharing the setting of the clicker as well as the collar on the spring. Thanks for any info. shared

More Rush Questions

Rode a dealer demo today. He said it was set for 190lbs. I'm a little shy of that and didn't get to ride long enough, far enough or on trails rough enough to get a real feel for the rear suspension. What little I did experience made me want to reduce the preload a little. My understanding is the primary adjustment is based on rider weight and then it can be fine tuned. I loved the power, rider position but wondered what kind of fuel economy the Polaris 600 is getting. Sorry I can't help with the suspension questions, as I hoped to watch the dealer adjust it for me, but he felt 190 was close enough even though I'm about 175.

I am also riding a dealer demo and on rough trails the 200lb. setting seemed a bit stiff. I have been told that the suspension will be broke in after 300 miles and may have to tweak settings a little. Fuel economy was not impressive, I got 12.25 mpg and that was not riding hard all the time. I am thinking of getting one next year if they drop the 800 motor in, that's kinda why I am asking what riders are happy or unhappy with. Thanks for your feedback.

I was at a dealer last nite and he told me they are putting an 800 in it for next yr. Either way, the fuel economy blows on the Poos.

If you go for a test ride, ride more than 10 mi. In 10 mi you'll be super impressed because it is like no other Polaris in handling & ride. Like all the later sleds it is hard to do any maint other than plugs. It is quite a bit harder to clean the exhaust valves from previous Polaris. The valve by the steering post is quite difficult to get out. I would like a windshield that is 1-1-1/2 taller than the current tall. As far as the rear shock/shock compression adjustments, start with the recommended settings and go from there, you'll problable end up going to a higher wt setting & more compression, look at ski lift and how well the sled sticks in the corners, this will determine where you want the shock & compression set.

The 800 Rush is already been out being ran on trails.
It will be out for 2011 production with new motor or new injectors on old 800 motor!

The rear shock has a gauge in the tool fit that shows you where to put the spring collar for spring tension. It goes up to 250 LB's If you are bigger you will need the bigboy spring. We were riding with 5 Rush's in our group this last weekend and other people were trying the sleds and it took just a minute to adjust for rider weights. The Clickers on the shock are set to personal choice.

Great ride in the ditches and trails. Not the fastest sled but it is not designed for all out speed. I would own one but I am a long track guy, so until they put it in a longer track I will wait.

I would have to agree that they are not the fastest sleds out there, I managed 93 mph so far. Very responsive on the low end and mid range, but as stated this sled is more about the ride than being a real speed demon. All in all pretty strong motor for a 600.

I rode a demo yesterday afternoon and it was probably the best handling trail sled I have ever been on. The trail was crappy and it handled beautifully. Power was fine for me, ran right up to 95mph, but I didn't stretch it out, it was that time of day with poor light combined with clouds so you couldn't really make out if there was anything nasty in front of you, and I didnt want to wreck a demo and have to buy it!

What I really liked was how the sled responds to rider position. Put your feet on the back of the running boards, lean back a little and ride a wheelie forever, sit forward and the skis stick in corners like glue. by far nicer than the new mxz I rode last weekend, just too bad it cant come with an etech for fuel/oil economy!

talked to a buddy yesterday who has 800 miles on his. He said it rode great and cornered as good as anything he has ever ridden, but the fuel economy was terrible. 9 mpgs when riding hard and it has a midrange stumble when you let off the throttle. He is taking it back in to get remapped.

I have almost 1000 miles on mine so far, everything from deep powder ditches to hardpack Iowa trails to 650 miles on the UP Trails (that varied from wonderfull to very choppy) and I really like it. It was different to get used to even coming from an IQ but you adapt rather quickly and get very comfortable in the seat. It corners as good or better than anything I have ever rode. And the main spring adjustment you can make it corner on rails to unbelivable weight transfer which allows it to hook up better than anything I have ever rode. I cut down a mid-height windshield and looks better and still does a fair job on wind protection. I agree with the mid 90's on top end but it hooks up and gets there very quickly. An 800 will be awesome and if they would lengthen the track out to 136" would be a perfect package in my opinion.

1600 plus miles on mine and it is by far and large the best handling, best bump, best holeshot sled I have been on. Only thing I would change is the mpg's 10 is about it. I have had 106 on the recall on mine but then I added a can and now 101 is the best I have seen. Gonna try some clutching next. Can't figure out the can deal, I lost 14.4 pounds of weight but lost 5 mph....

I had to return demo unit to my dealer, so now its a wait and see on the 800 version. Still good information to see what is working for owners and what isn't.
