PowerMadd Seat Wedge and Handlebar Riser

Anyone have or tried one of these seat wedges? My son is looking to put a handlebar riser on his ZL and is thinking of raising the seat too. As of now, most of our riding is on the trail but he is looking to do a little more off trail and wants to make his sled "one of those stand-up ones" so he thinks he needs the handlebar riser but doesn't want the bar to be too high when he is sitting down and riding the trail.

Any suggestions???????

Bought a 99 ZL 500 for my wife 4yrs ago and it had a 3" riser on it. She seems to really like it and I have to say its not bad the few times I've taken it up and down the trail.

Here's a few pictures, sorry not the best views of the riser, but you can see the gap it leaves at the bottom of the pad cover.

Thanks guys. Just put a 3" riser in last night. I'm normally a "stock" kind of a guy and it was really just something the kid wanted, but it actually seems like it could be a nice improvement. Really thinking of adding the seat wedge as it looks like it will improve the riding position if you like to get up on top of the tank in more forward position. Only knock I've read about it is that someone said it made it hard to stay on the back of the seat when you wanted to just cruize down the trail in a more relaxed, just get from A to B, mind set.

My sled has little add on, but is stock for the most part, but like I said, I did like the riser when I have used the sled. Let us know what you end up thinking this winter after you get a few rides in.

Really funny you posted again today, I just got the seat wedge this week and last night I went to the shop and put it into position. I didn't have enough time to actually mount it, but it is in place so I could sit on it and see how it felt. I was really suprised how well it placed me into the riding position I like. I am a feet back, knees under me guy and with the wedge installed, and riser on the handlebars it felt a lot more like my F8 riding position. I'll see how it is this season and put something up again but it think it will be an investment I'll feel good about.

I have had a wedge on my Polaris '07 XCSP for 4 years, glade I did it !! Before my lower back and legs would get sore from a long ride but man what a differance after I put the wedge on !! I would have to scoot back on the set after going thru corners but was able to stretch out when just cruising. Didn't put a riser on and it was just fine. Well worth the money and time to put it on.

Take some pictures of the install, if you can. Maybe I will see about putting it on my wife's sled.

Will do, may be a week or so but I'll put them up on this thread after its done. Its in place now, but it will take a little work to get it into the final position and I don't have much free time this weekend or up coming week but once I finish I'll post some.

Well I got it installed. Wasn't too hard, worst part was trying to reach up over the track to install some screws up through the tunnel into the new seat wedge. Biggest problem with it though is that it isn't made specifically for the ZL. It is made for a M chassis but "fits" the ZL and ZR. I called Powermadd and had a great conversation with a tech guy who understood my issue and agreed with all my points. Basiclly the wedge is a little wider than the tunnel and a little longer. It won't make any difference in performance, but it doesn't look quite right. After I get everything set in place I decided it didn't matter to me about the width as it only sticks out about 1/4" on each side, but the length is about 1" too long. I thought about cutting it down, put you really need that inch because as you raise the seat up it extends backwards almost the same distance as the wedge sticks out. What I decided to do was set the wedge in place where the seat lines up with it, then I'm going to a metal guy and have him fab me a solid piece of aluminum that I can paint black and then put under the wedge to look like the back of the tunnel. Not sure when that will happen so I decided to post a before and after shot for you now.
