Problem with 1995 Chevy Diesel, Need input!

Hey guys, I bought a 1995 Chevy 1500 diesel last Friday. It ran great for two day and then in the last two days it has started to sputter and bog at lower speeds when I step on the accelerator (does not happen all the time but still frequently). The tach goes up and down very sporadically when this happens. The check engine light has started to come on and off frequently but does not stay on. Also, twice yesterday when the bogging occurred, I lost power and the truck shut off. Any suggestions? Fuel pump, fuel issue, or sucking air? I hope its nothing to major, it ran very well when I drove it a week before I decided to purchase the truck.

Thanks all-

Cole

Fuel filter, when in doubt always suspect the fuel filter.

Owners tend to ignore these..

I would try the fuel filter also. Change mine about twice a year just for a piece of mind. Some places have some bad fuel.

Thanks guys,

They are telling me that the computer is reading "code 35" which says I need a new pump module driver like fatcat800 suggested. Anyone know what I am looking to spend? or any advice from here.

Thanks again,

Cole

More bad news!!

This just keeps getting worse and worse guys. Now they think gas may have gotten in my tank. I filled up the truck last night with diesel (I know for a fact) for the first time that I have put fuel in it since I bought it last Friday. So, I immediately call the guy I bought the truck from and asked him if he knew of any way this could be and he assured me that he did not put gas in it. He said he filled it up at the same place he always does and that he also filled up his work truck twice this week from the same place and has not had any issues. When I picked it up on Friday it had a full tank in it. So, then I called the gas station where I fueled up last night too see if they have had anyone else complain about their diesel and sure enough they have not.

So, I guess my question is how bad is the damage from running gas in my diesel, IF this has happened?

I had the tank emptied and conditioned, along with new diesel added and replaced the fuel filter.

They still say that the PMD is bad, which is causing the stalling and loss of power as well as the check engine light coming on. Are they telling the truth or could these be symptoms of gas in the diesel.

I should add one more thing, The first guy I brought the truck too today was the one who told me that he thought there was gas in the tank, so I had him drain the tank and do what I stated above. However, he referred me to another guy to fix the PMD because the computer was reading "code 35" which relates to the PMD, and he is not set up to install it.

So, I‘m wondering, could it be that the first guy I took it to today, lied about gas being in the tank just to get some money from me being that he could not perform the major work? And all these symptoms are related to the bad PMD mot the gas, or could the symptoms be completely related to the potential gas in the tank and there is nothing wrong with the PMD?

Sorry for rambling but this all is very suspicious being that I just purchased it less then a week ago, so you can see why I am one mad SOB.

Thanks guys, any info or advice would be greatly appreciated, you have no idea!

ssdieselsupply.com walt know his $%@* when it comes to 6.2's and 6.5's. Could very well be the p.m.d. but usually they don't throw a code when they go out. Could be the o.p.s. switch also. Lot's of variables, far as fuel. Ain't the best on em but if you got the gas out should be good to go and start running right withing 20 miles or so if that was the only problem. Gas's main problem in a diesel is the lack of lubrication and not that it won't fire.
