I have a 10 - 12 year old sony projection tv.... Hd......the picture just got distorted.. And fades in and out to normal to distorted.

Any tv techs out there ??? Is it worth getting looked at and fixed or time to scrap it ??

I agree. Scrap it. Got a 55" Mitsubishi that won't stay powered. Can't give it away. It's got to be an easy fix but nobody wants them.

I have an 8 year old Sony projection/LCD. I replaced the bulb a couple years ago, otherwise has worked great. With projections, if the T.V. is moved often or in a rough manner, it is possible that one of the mirrors has adjusted, but the picture would be distorted all the time. Sounds like a reception issue, either a bad feed from your cable/dish or internally in your T.V. If internal, probably not worth fixing.

We have a 1998 GE 54 inch projection TV.
Never had 1 problem with it.
But the picture was starting to getting fuzzy.

So I just bought a new 60 inch HD Samsung with a sound bar and big cabinet so set it on and also to store our DVD and DVR sets.

I put the old set on craigs list for $50 and never got a call.
I then gave it to a buddy of mine for free.
He put it in his work shop.
Had to move it with a dolly because it had to weigh 200#.

Wow, what a big change to this new one. We love it.
