Thinking about planing a trip over to Mackinac Island next year with that one lady that keeps coming to my house at night (wife). Is there any place to moor or beach a pwc over there? .........Thanks!!!

man, your must get good gas mileage. Mine is a 1100cc triple 2 stroke that uses about 8 gallons to go about 40 miles

Just looking to ride from St. Ignace to Mackinac Island. It's not that far of a ride at all. About 3-4 miles. Just not sure what to do with the ski once i get to the Island....

Okay, this is where you park, there is a Zodiac/jetski dock at the far east end of the miniciple marina that you can park for free. It is inside the sea wall.

The dock is not shown in your pic. It is at the bottom of the pic to the left. See the boats. That are moored? See the private docks at bottom, to the left is a pretty long dock there and the very small sail boats, PWC's and Zodiacs park there. It is a city dock for small boats, day use only. When you get there the Dock Master or gas Dock attendant will point it out for you.

No absolutely the wrong direction. That oicture is the city dock, food and Beer deliveries are made at that side of that dock. You want way east of that. Your picture is way left of marina. you need to go as far right (east) in the harbor and the dock is there. I will try to google earth it. Bare with never done this before.

I will try to get you a picture. If you look at the date in lower left corner of your picture. Now if your picture was larger the dock is where the date is. this picture is looking south southwest. When you come into the Harbor you will be facing North, the dock you want will be at the 2 O'clock position. North east.

http://www.mapquest.com/?le=t&q=Hab...aptype=map&ICID=mq_localoneclick&flv=1&vs=map try this. it is at far right side. looks like a small park on shore. this is it. near breakwall. On goggle earth it shows 2 boats at that dock. Okay, that link don't get you there. you have to click on satallite and start zooming in on the south end of the island. In Satallite mode you will see docks. look at breakwall on right. see a dock there just left of it. that's it.

Ahhhh, now i see it......Thanks!!!
Okay. now go have some fun. I would swing by the Marina office and ask if you still have questions. There is a very small sign on the dock that says, "Day dock for Tenders, and jet skis only". (I call all rubber boats Zodiacs) Can't miss it. My kids did the trip from Mackinaw city to the Island about 4 years ago and that's were they were instructed to park. ( I parked in the Marina with my boat.

Well that is me riding down Main street Mackinaw Island on an RMK, standing up and with a backpack (got the looks). To get over to the Island on a sled you just have to have the right year, month and day to do it. The snow bridge is short and sweet for duration it is open. does not happen every year. Snowmobiles are allowed to ride the entire Island. I just happen to be on my way to Grand Marais to ride the Kingston Plains area when I spotted a sled crossing the ice. So detour of plans and into St. Ignace to the docks to unload. Island bound we went, smurfrider and I.

Make note: if you like riding Islands in the winter at least do Drummond Island. Ferry boat over on the west end of island and ride into Canada for lunch accross the ice to St. Joseph Island for lunch. Bonus time with the wife, guys!
