Hopefully somebody can answer because I am not sure

Looking to get a portable battery booster box to bring with in the winter. I have a 2006 Ford F250 Diesel. How many cranking amps would I need to jump my truck if I needed to. All I can find around by me is 450 amps with a peak of 900. Would this be enough? Any help would be appreciated along with any brand recommendations. Thanks.

Don't you have two batteries under the hood? Why do you need the booster? I had a diesel Excursion and never had a starting problem. I always plugged it in but that was to get the heat going faster.

May or may not be overkill, but it never hurts to have back-up. Just like carrying extra belt, plugs and other maybe items on your sled. Maybe you'll need them maybe you won't.

i dont know how much you need but when my 06 f250 needed batteries I had to put a charger on one and jumper cables on the other for 15-20 min before it would start that was at 70+ degrees. My thoughts are none of thse boosters are going to be big enough

Yes, the truck does have two batteries. One is your main and one is extra juice to turn it over. I never had a problem yet and don't expect one, just rather be safe then sorry thats all.....you can NEVER be to preparred.

Just depends on how much the batteries would be run down if you thought you would need a booster pack. If completely dead and nice and cold outside, then one boosterpack wouldn't do the job. but in that case two may..just make sure to hook one to each battery after diconnecting the battery cables.
I had an 2005 f-350 diesel with 40,000 miles with electrical problems that would drain the batteries. I put two new 850cca in and two weeks later...dead. It takes alittle while to even jumpstart off a single battery vehicle leaving it running. Ford couldn't find the problem so I eventually traded for a new one again.
