Since northern WI and the UP are supposed to get snow, will that snow help cool the ground down and help get the ground closer to freezing?
I understand snow acts as a insulator, but as far as Im aware, there hasnt been any cold temps yet. And I am assuming the ground temp is probably kinda warm yet. But even though the snow will most certainly melt, will that snow, and melting snow help bring the ground temp down faster? Thanks

The snow will not help freeze things up. If anything would stall it, as snow is a good insulator and in this case, will just add to the wetness of the ground once it melts.

The best thing to get ground temps below freezing and also to freeze up any moisture in or on the ground is very cold and dry weather.
