R.I.P. rider on trail 3

I just wanted to send out my condolences to the friends and family of the young man who passed on trail 3 last night. Sends shivers up my spine knowing we were just there hours earlier. My understanding is you guys were just about 2 miles from being back to your resort. We stopped at the site of the accident this morning and it's all I thought about all day. If anyone has any info they'd like to share it'd be appreciated. Again I'm so sorry

L'ANSE - A Missouri man was killed in a snowmobile accident in Elm River Township Monday night.
Zachary Fish, 24, was riding a 2010 Yamaha southbound on Trail No. 3 when he careened off the trail, striking a tree.
He was thrown off the vehicle, sustaining fatal injuries.
Troopers from the Michigan State Police L'Anse post were called out at 10:35 p.m.
Fish, from Ellisville, Mo., was riding with a group of friends and co-workers from Ellisville when the accident occurred.
Troopers were assisted at the scene by Twin Lakes Fire and Rescue (who had several snowmobiles and specialized tracked vehicles), first responders, Mercy Ambulance, Superior Service Towing and Houghton County Medical Examiner Annette Schaefer.
Michigan State Police Lt. Mike Loyd said further details were unavailable, as the report has not been finished.

Thank you Cat Woman for the post, I just couldn't start the the thread,my heart just hurt for the friends that are here and their families,our prayers go to all.There's a few areas here were loved ones were lost and it is still erie to drive past them but a memory of them is there for that moment,just shows our loved ones are always there.

So sad. My prayers go out to the family and friends of this young man. There are numerous crosses on the trails in the UP, and every time I pass one I think about the person that was lost and the family and friends left behind. Be safe out there everyone.
