03 polaris 500,want to rebild primary and add a couple winds to the secondary.is it easy or should i take them to a repair shop.they say it takes about an hour.an hour of labor buys the tool that it takes.

If you are mechanically inclined I would get the tools you need and do it. It will probably not be the last time you have to go through that procedure so it will be good to have those skills under your belt. Once you do it you will find it to be easy and it will also give insight into diagnosis of problems etc. You may also find that after you wind the secondary you want to put it back to where it was.
