Rebuilding a Wrecked Sled...

Hey guys,
So I recently started a new project which is rebuilding a 2003 Skidoo MXZ 800 that hit a tree. The front plastics are pretty damaged and the motor has not been started for over 10 years. I am documenting the entire rebuild on Youtube. I am not a Ski Doo guy or a expert working on sleds in general so any advice is welcome! Please check out the video and let me know your thoughts!

just a heads up, if this sled was titled as TOTALED< and you do fix it, you might run into issue's with getting a new title or insuring it, which pending where you live, might be a legal issue to ride trails
as in my state we are required by LAW to have both a state registration and insurance!

we DO have a process of getting a new title here in PA< but pending , most insurance company's will ask when getting a policy if sled was ever totaled<> and if you lie that can be legal issue for you, and if you say YES< many won;t insure it, as they figure someone else already got paid or the likes?
things can get legally tricky re doing a totaled vehicle!

so, just a heads up

and best of luck to you, looks like a good project to learn and have a sled to enjoy when done!

He could fix it & still get it insured, with liability only, no physical damage coverage. If his state mandates insurance, all you are required to have is liability coverage, they can't mandate "full coverage". All else aside, it's a 2003.... -Mezz

Nationwide INS will NOT insure a sled that was totaled period, NO coverage at all, found that out after redoing s totaled sled!, so know for a fact!

so might come down to what INS company, but on policy applications when asked if ever totaled, if I checked that on ANY ins I tried afterwards, it said NO coverage available?
so?? could be in your state things are different, but here In PA, that was what I had happen!
