In theory, you can re-build them yourself. You just need the proper tools, a large tank of nitrogen, a $250 needle valve assembly to put the nitrogen into the shock, and the parts to re-build it. Or, you can send it to a professional shock re-builder for about 30-40$ and let him do it. If you just need a re-charge on the nitrogen, larger dealers shoud be able to do it. You cant really just add a little oil to them.

I dont think this is something you want to try. no location in your profile. ask around at any local powersports dealer. they should be able to steer you to a good local shock service person. or check the northwoods directory on this site,as many of these folks advertise here. if all else fails, ship them to Greg or Matt at www.goodwinperformance.com, but call first. tell 'em Roger sent you.

If you have Polaris sleds North Country in Manitowish Waters on 51 going to Mercer or Hurley they rebuild Fox, rydefx, and walker evans shocks.

I rebuild about 50 shocks a year. If you have no experience in rebuilding shocks or you do not have the correct tools do not attempt this. Find a local shock guy and have it done. After about 3,000 miles most shocks will need rebuilding, the oil gets dirty from rubbing on the sides of the shock body. If the shock has not leaked to this point, on the bench it will feel like it is working when you push the shock in, but the oil is old/dirty and will not work through the piston and valving correctly resulting in a much rougher ride. Do yourself a favor, rebuild every 3,000 miles or every 3 years.
