recoil

hi my recoil rope on my 86 indy trail broke so i took the blower housing off to put new recoil rope on and my dad told me to take the whole spring out to idk why but i listened to him and now i got the new rope but dont know how to keep the spring twisted up enought to hook the one end onto the hook on the blower houseing without it flying apart if u no what i mean i could use some advise

Sorry, kind of real hard to tell someone how to to do it, let alone do it myself. It's probly easier to find some one to do it for you.

ya i wraped it up in my hand then put it into place and let it unwrap against the like spring wall then i put the spoul that hods the rope on and started twisting it up and now the springs all bent up so i gotta buy a new 1 and have someone do it
