Known as a Blood Moon, this rare event occurs when Earth aligns precisely between the Sun and Moon, filtering sunlight through the atmosphere and painting the lunar surface in striking shades of red. Lasting 3 hours and 38 minutes, with the Blood Moon phase peaking for 1 hour and 5 minutes at 1:36 AM CDT​

This actually happened early this morning & was not visible to us due to the heavy cloud cover we had. I wouldn't have been up at 3 a.m. to see the total eclipse anyway.... maybe next year. Suppose to happen again Mar 3, 2026.
