Can anyone tell me how the trails are in the area surrounding: Red Wing to Cannon Falls, to Zumbrota and over to Lake City are? Planning a trip Saturday and hope to stay overnight in Red Wing.

You can ride to Lake City and back to Farmington in a day easy, about 180 miles from my door through Hastings/Vermillion. Lots of trails to make a stay over worth it though.

Through Farmington to the east yesterday there was no grooming yet, but I'm sure they will be out today/tomorrow. Plenty of snow, its just drifted up pretty good, but was still soft enough yesterday to just bomb through it.

We had a club meeting on Tuesday night and groomers said they were going out Wednesday to groom so everything around us thru Welch I would think would be done. I'm not able to ride until next week so I don't have first hand knowledge but I am driving by a few trails today so I will update after I take a look.

An update would be great we are going to be a little south of that tomorrow but what I hear on conditions might run north instead we were looking at parking by Kenyon tomorrow and running east to river and coming back wasn't sure if conditions were better towards north like red wing or south towards wabasha

We are heading to Welch tomorrow and going to ride all over that area until our arms fall off.

I spoke with the Polaris dealer in Red Wing today and was told the trails are excellent so our group is looking forward to the ride. Never ridden in the area and it's supposed to be some beautiful, fun, & twisty trails. I'll report back tomorrow.

I just got back home from the area we rode from wanamingo to pine island that was pretty good went to Oronoco up to Mazeppa to Goodhue that was also good spots here and there that were thin or rough from plowed fields but not bad from goodhue to miesville some was really good they had more snow up towards miesville but hadn't been grommed so real rough but the groomer was right behind us on trail so tonight that should be good tons of tracks up that way went down to cannon falls and dennison and back to wanamingo. not putting down any of the other counties because all the riding was fine at worst today but I think Goodhue county was doing the best job keeping up with the trails hats off it was a nice day at the office left home at 830 put on 140 miles and was back home by 5 that area has some awesome terrain too everything from fields to rolling fields to river bottoms to big rock cliffs

We rode Friday from Welch > Red Wing > Hay Creek > Frontenac > down to Goodhue then 1/2 way to Cannon then back up to Hay Creek and Welch.

Trails were great, but thin farther west of Frontenac across to Goodhue. The stretch from Welch parking lot toward RW was bump for the first 5 miles then was good. The ride from Haycreek to Frontenac was amazing.

Overall, great trail systems and great changes in scenery. Would love to come down there again and ride when they get more snow, because after the warm wknd I'm sure it's all done.
