If I have one of the reed petals starting to lift and not fully close, can I flip it over and use it or am I asking for trouble. The reason I don't replace it is that no dealer in MI has them in stock so I have to wait on shipping.

What kind of sled is this??
Just replaced my reeds with Boyson Power Reeds. My stock reeds had 6500 miles and I heard that its about time, better than after one breaks. Boysen has stock replacments and Power Reeds for most applications that fit your cages. My reeds had also started to lift as yours. So far I'm happy with the reeds and they were easy to install. The sled ran a little leaner at idle which I corrected with air screws. The midrange seams better and throttle response is much better. I have yet to open her up all way to see if top end power is different because of poor lake conditions and losing snow. I would not advise reusing your old reeds. Dennis Kirk had my reeds to me in 2 days standard ship during x-mas.

It's a 2000 Vmax 700, red head triple. I have replaced the reeds once in 13,000 miles, had a crack and curling last time, but since only one of the 3 petals is curling I was thinking of what I could do just to get by since I don't want to keep throwing money at it, as well as not wanting to wait.

I thought I might be able to help you but unfortunately I don't have any in stock for that sled. But can be ordered and recieved in one day.
