Relay for headlight on 2007 FST

The headlight went out on my wifes sled this weekend, thus far I have been told there is a relay for this. Can anyone confirm if they have had this happen before and where is this relay located? I am assuming it is located under the "cover plate" on the hood where the headlight is. Please advise if anyone knows the location and if I am correct that the relay is the issue.

Have you tryed the high/low beam switch to see if the lights come on? Polaris has had problems with the switches. If nothing happens then try swapping the relays that are located on the clutch/belt guard (do this with the engine off). Both are the same and if one is bad it should be available at the local automotive store.

Yes, the first thing I tried was the high low and no luck. I am still wondering if the relay for the lights is under the plastic panel under the hood? I didnt have a torx wrench with on the trail so did not pull the panel.

The relay is located in the black plastic electrical box on the top of the belt gaurd. My 06 did the same thing, a wire broke off of the relay. Soldered it back on and its fixed.

If I remember right the you don't need a wrench for this the cover for the relays should just pop off and the side panel should pop off to. Then the relay box is on the belt guard.

I know where this box is, I already pulled all the fuses to check them. I did not see a relay labelled for lights, is it labelled as something else?

Relay won't look bad or blown. Book should say what relay it is. And most auto stores should have the right one

Ok, finally got my hands on a relay from my dealer. I replace all of them, one at a time and still no headlight. My dealer is now thinking that since the gages and tailight work that it may be the left hand control as he says the power for the headlight runs through it. Wow is this turning in to a real cluster. I was hoping someone out there experienced the same thing and could point me the right direction, if not I will be trying the left hand control next.

Take the box off the belt guard, take it apart and look on the back side of the relay where the wires are crimped in, and make sure they are not pulled out.

Problem solved, my dealer was right it was the left hand control that went bad. Thanks to all that offered good information and things to check while trouble shooting. That is why I like the tech talk section, if you have experienced a problem before you can save others time, effort and money!
