Rer backfire

Is it normal for a 800MXZ to backfire when entering RER? I did this this weekend while trying to back out from a gas pump. It backfired so loud it scared me not to mention my wife who was filling her sled. If looks could kill...well I wouldn't be here. Sounded like a 357mag.

I dont know about when engaging the RER feature, but the Doo 800's are known to pop after you shut them down. Check the idle rpm and adjust if needed. it shouldn't pop like that for RER use.

My wifes does that if u don't let it idel for a little bit before hitting the button. Why was the wife so scared, does she think someone needs to shoot her????

Backfired!!!

No, she just about s%&*t her pants because she had the gas nozzle in her gas tank. It was LOUD!

it would make sense that it could when entering rer. the rer is just slowing down the timing so much that the engine starts to fire in reverse, there will be a point where no fuel is being burned and it will be thrown into a hot pipe which could cause a backfire
