I am thinking about doing a rev seat conversion on my 01 mxz 700 and am wondering if anyone has done it and if it is worth the trouble and cost. I have found a bunch of guys who have done it on DooTalk but I am looking for others input.
Thanks
I know nothing of what you speak… however, don't throw good money at old iron, ride what you got for what it is, save the money, put it towards saving enough to buy a 04' Rev you should be able to find a decent used one in the $3000 or so range this season. Just my thoughts...
It may be old by some standards, but there is nothing old about this sled. It has been by project since I bought it new in 02. I am saving for a new or close to new sled next season. I am just building a cool trail sled that I can play with after I get a new one. Nothing wrong with adding on to a paid off sled!!!
Like you mentioned dootalk has a lot of information about the rev seat conversion. I personally don't care for the look of a rev seat on a ZX chassis sled, but it is your sled and money. I would think that you can do the conversion for about $300. Are you looking to change the rider position or just looking to mod something? Good luck.
mn_mxz,
I hear what you are saying and I am was not a big fan of he look either but I found an image of a ZX with the rev x seat on it. I like the look of the REV X seat better and my sled is stretched to a 136 so it looks better then the 121. i have the frames riveted together and it is going of to the upholstery shop tonight. i will add photos when I am done.
Wow, very nice… I see what you mean, she looks showroom clean. Hope you didn’t take it too personal when I referred to her as old iron in my previous post. Looks good, I am impressed.
All I need is the original seat, rev seat of choice, $100 for the upholster, and another $100 for beer and we have a deal.
Or you could it yourself.
It was not to bad of a job. I had about 6 hours into it at that point. Lots of learning as I went, but if I had to do it again it would take less time.
