Ride conditions on a monday

Not sure if this is the correct board, but here goes. I don't get to northern WI often, and with no snow in Central WI haven't ridden much. Wife has ridden maybe twice in the last 5-6 years. Upgraded her from a sit down type sled to a newer rider forward. She wants to get out and try it some time when the trails are not very crowded, even if it's only for a couple hours. 2 hr drive to Langlade or Forrest Co. If we went up on a Monday, would the trails have been groomed from the weekend traffic? I want her on nice smooth trails so she enjoys this and wants to do it more. Are there enough places open to get a bite to eat and such? Have seen where Mondays are their off day.

Thanks!

The problem Forest, Vilas has right now is low snow. I don’t think groomers can do too much almost like panning not much snow to work with to spread around. It is what it is until more snow. Cold temps are keeping the snow we have. Weekdays trails are always better than weekends.

Watching the forecast, will wait until there’s more snow but was concerned groomers may hit it hard for the weekend and later in the week

Thanks for replying

Seems like the grade 10 or so miles north of the Casino always runs out of snow and you are down to big stone gravel.

100 Miler (Forest Co), Blue Ox (Florence Co), and Dun-Good (northern Marinette Co) are all reporting good - very good conditions with a few thin areas here and there. Once you get northest of Crandon / Wabeno you will see very little traffic on a Monday.

I have ridden many, many miles on these club's trails over the years and all do a good job staying on top of grooming regardless of day of week, especially the 100 Miler & Dun Good clubs.

You can ride Lakewood north with good trails despite low conditions. This will get you to Northern Oconto, Forest, and access to Langlade and Florence. In fact the low conditions and a good base have prevented things from rutting and rollers forming. I have a place up there, and I have been riding since they opened 12/28. 500+ miles just in that area.

Things are good and consistent now, grooming is on going, but the lack of new snow will only lead to problems over time. With the cold coming, I am confident that you will be ok this Monday. As for Mondays in general, plenty of places open to eat, warm up, gas up, etc........

Conditions are better than people think.

I rode Florence trails Sunday and the club is grooming but they need more snow. the groomers are doing a great job with what they have to work with. We received maybe and inch today (if that), but need more to make the trails excellent. I took out a first timer on a 2 up last Sunday and was good enough to let them experience snowmobiling but the trails were a little choppy/bumpy.
