I would head for Munising, Grand Marais, Seney, Paradise. This will also allow you to see Tauquamenon Falls in winter if you never have.

It probably too late but we just got back from the Twin Lakes area and while we didn't/dont trail ride the backcountry is epic right now and what we've seen of the trails they look to be in great shape..

At the same time if you dont normally ride the bc I'd use caution. My kid got a small hooped tree under his ski and when we were getting ihis RMK out I fell through the snow up to my chest...kinda hairy getting out.

We rode from Twin Lakes to Copper Harbor yesterday and the trails were fantastic...except 3 south of the bridge, but the groomer was just getting out heading that way

Rode today 3-19-19, from Calumet to Copper Harbor, trails are wet with soft snow on top, but still very rideable. They were groomed last night, except out to Highrock Bay, and not in prime condition, but groomers are expected to go out again tonight. Trails are OK to ride, but roads are bare, and expect worsening conditions each day over the previous day. Lots of deer especially in Eagle River, Michigan. Yesterday (3-18-19) we rode in the Conover and the Eagle River Wisconsin area, and it seems that grooming is done now. Nights are still below freezing. Riding beyond 12-noon is beginning to be a challenge. Warmer highs each day are still in the forecast.
