Staying at rockin M ranch and Rented a polaris pro 800 rmk for 3 days of riding. was wondering if any body has riden this area? How they liked it? any good spots? or any tips? will be close to Idaho also and will ride that one day? Thanks for any info.

We stayed in town and rented from the Rockin M, great place to rent from. We didn't ride
anything in Idaho at all, there was so much in Alpine we didn't even come close to seeing
it all. Just run the trail up past the Yamaha dealership until you get higher in elevation and
pick a play area and go. They claimed it was a low snow year back in 07 but you wouldn't
think so after getting up in elevation some.

We have a group that has been going there for about 4 years now we love it there. The problem is that the drive is about 25 to 27 hours that is a long way to drive for marginal snow conditions, but there has been very awesome condition also. Blind bull has great terrian and there is greys river to. You are also very close to afton which if you are renting have no way to trailer there. If you ask Rob he will point you in the right direction for the best snow anywhere from climbing to meadow riding which is the best out there. You could also post on snowest to get more info.

Will be headed out end of January, beginning of February. Most in the group will be the first time there, a few of us have been there before...Cannot wait! I am one of the first timers, so can't point you in the right direction other then check out snowest and the Wyoming section. Rockin M actually has a few "updates" already there...

Hey xcsks - was that you and me there in 07? We rented from Rockin' M but stayed in town and he delivered them to us and we kept them for week and rode right from motel into mountains. Despite the reported low snow that year we found plenty of boondocking play areas and stuck spots. I got the feeling most folks were there to ride the scenic trails or to use their turbos to climb stuff we couldn't touch. And because it's off the beaten path, not a ton of riders. Left plenty of powder for us. We used the gps to explore off trail and found lots of untracked spots. It's not hard to find good challenges on rentals. But be careful - we came across several areas that had slid before we got there. Would go back in a heartbeat.
