Riding near Rabbit Ears Pass and Steamboat Lake Outfitters

Buddies and I are heading out on 2/11. Wondering if anyone has been out there, and how it's looking? First time in the mountains for some of us.

I was out there just over a week ago. The snow was nice around the ears. They always get fresh there so no worrys! You might want to make the run up to Buffalo its always great riding in both those areas.

Rabbit ears is always good, watch for closed areas. Get to the parking areas early they will fill up fast!

We had a great trip. Didn't go to Rabbit Ears, but drove by it twice. We spent the time up at Steamboat Lake Outfitters. Great place. The parks in the area (California, Big Rid, Whiskey, and others) were awesome. Lot's of play areas along the trails too. Tons of snow. Was 35 degrees each day. The snow set up pretty good by the time we left, but we had a blast. Would definitely go back there. Trails were in very good shape considering they don't get groomed that much. Had one guy break his leg the last day, and another had to leave early for a very sick relative, but we made the best of it.

I'd highly recommend anyone go to Steamboat Lake Outfitters. Food, bar, gas, groceries, right on site. Wonderful cabins, all in great shape. Easy access to the wilderness via the trails.

I'd be the one with the thong on my head... yeah, it was THAT much fun..

Nope, we were there just for our own pleasure.... But the bar was hoppin' with karoke one night. must have been a girls night out. lots o' ladies there.... hope to get back again next year.
