Is there anyone familiar with ATV/UTV rules in the Houghton area. We would like to ride into town and stay at the Super 8. Is this possible? Are the trails to copper harbor open? Can you get up brockway?

ORV trail section closed temporarily in Keweenaw County
Closure to affect access to Copper Harbor until mid-September
Logging operations on private property along a 15-mile-long section of the state-managed off-road vehicle B Route in Keweenaw County have forced temporary closure of the trail effective immediately.
Michigan Department of Natural Resources Parks and Recreation Division trail officials said the landowner will be conducting logging activities that directly impact the trail, and recreational use would not be safe.
A trail reroute was not possible.
“The trail is closed between Lac Labelle Road and Keystone Bay Road,” said Rob Katona, DNR central Upper Peninsula trails specialist. “Riders will not be able to access Copper Harbor and the Keweenaw Point area when traveling from locations such as Eagle Harbor, Eagle River, Phoenix, Mohawk and Calumet.”
Katona said the closed trail segment will be gated at both ends with limited area available to turn around. DNR conservation officers and county sheriff’s deputies will be patrolling the closure.
In addition, the DNR announced in late May another temporary ORV trail closure in the area for logging operations that remains in effect.
That closure involves the west side of the BK ORV Trail, located on private lands, which is closed until the timber harvest is completed.

I was in the area last week and did not see one SXS trail riding up there. As busy as Copper Harbor and Brockway was I don't think I would want to ride that area anyway. The type of people that were up there would probably want to sabotage your SXS anyway lol. I want to buy a Electric assist Mountain bike when prices settle down, but was told I would not be welcomed biking in Copper Harbor.
Regarding the mtn bike comment, they are not allowed on Duluth (COGGS) trails either. City of Duluth requires all trails to be non motorized so no E-bikes. At this point in my life I like the challenge of the trails but in another 10 yrs when I'm in my 60's I could see the advantage of a e-bike. Hopefully attitudes (and prices) will have changed by then.
No e-bikes on bike trails? I would never have guessed that. Wonder why? I just got back from the black hills last week, atv and sxs are allowed on every road that I could tell, including US highways. Was sure a breath of fresh air out there both literally and figuratively. To bad more places can't have attitudes like they do out there.
You can register a SxS as a motorcycle in S.D. and get license plates for it. Then you can drive them in any state (so I'm told).
