Riding with a cast on your right arm , anybody done it

On the last trip I fractured a bone in my wrist, but supposed to go next weekend.

Thinking of going and trying to ride a little, I could also just hang at the derby while my buddy's ride.

not sure about riding, but to me it looks like you're a little out of focus on the most important part of this picture :)

The doctor said I could but he's not a snowmobiler and doesn't know the abuse the body takes.

That's why I asked if anybody has done it.

I've ridden with a broken left wrist. It was doable, but I was only able to comfortably ride at about 50% my normal pace. After a day of riding your arm will be sore because of all the vibrations it was experiencing all day - make sure you have some extra strength Tylenol along with you. I'm guessing you will be more sore since it is your right hand and will have the resistance of the throttle all day.

Thanks, that's info I was looking for :(

I went and tried to grip the handle bar and squeeze the throttle and it hurt like a son of a B$tch.

I'm out till the cast comes of Feb 5.

Hoping for a long season this year to make up for lost riding time.

Not me but my then 14yo son. He broke his right wrist shortly before our first father/son trip to the UP and had a cast just like yours. He was able to ride fine but slower and more carefully with more frequent rest breaks.

He found his throttle thumb would tire and get sore because there was only one position he could use. That limited our range to 40-50 miles per day.

We still had fun and are glad we went.

I partially tore a ligament in my right thumb the week before an out west trip a few years back. I had a cast on my wrist, and right thumb. I ended up running a gold finger leftie throttle on the left side, and cut off the majority of the thumb throttle so it cleared my hand on the right side of the bars. It worked! It was an adventure pulling the throttle and hitting the NOS button at the same time with me left hand... lol

Legend,

I wouldn't push it, if you re-injure this bone or displace the fracture any more than it already is, you could be looking at a surgery. Or worse yet, something called SNAC wrist: Scaphoid non-union advanced collapse. Let it heal, you'll need that wrist for the rest of your life!

I'm not riding, buddies are leaving tommorrow

Hopefully after feb 5 when the cast comes off

It's not worth risking further injury right now

I think a good call on the non-ride bit. I broke my 5th medicarple (hand in bone) while in high school and still rode my dirt bike. It healed wrong and I needed to have it broke again. Hurt way worse the second time with all the calcium in the area. take it easy and get back on the horse once healed.

got the renegade out of the garage today rode it around the yard a few times and put it in the trailer till February

All the snow is going to melt the next couple days here anyway so it was a good opportunity to put it away and it was my first ride of 2015

The last ride of 2014 is what caused this issue in the last 15 minutes of the trip
