Gay, MI.jpg Shouth range.jpg Rockland1.jpg Rockland2.jpg Arrived in Rockland Sunday(12/18/16)evening. -12 degrees. rode to Bruce Crossing and back to Rockland. Trails were amazing! Next day, Monday, we rode from Rockland to Mass City, Twin Lakes, South Range, Houghton, Eagle Harbor and Copper Harbor. Trails were amazing except for one stretch of 13. We were the first ones on groomed trails for about half the way. Same for return route back to Rockland. More snow from Twin Lakes to Copper Harbor. Tuesday, went from Rockland to Bruce Crossing for breakfast. Snow was much thinner than Sunday evening. Then went to Twin Lakes, South Range, Houghton, Eagle River, Gay and back the same way we came. Trails still excellent. Brockway Mountain was Beautiful! As was Eagle River View of Lake Superior with the waves crashing against the ice piles. Great trip!❄️❄️❄️ Was able to load some pics. The first 2 are from Monday the 19th and are north of Houghton. The next 2 are from Sunday the 18th and are between Rockland and Bruce Crossing. There were many more showing the same great conditions.

I arrived in Mass City around 3pm on 12-18-16 Sunday and left 12-20-16 around 5pm. I ended up with about 640 miles in the 2 in a half days of riding. The best trails were definitely Rockland and North. Monday rode to Copper Harbor I do not know the trail numbers but went past Lac La Belle to Gay the trail was really good. From Gay you could tell you were riding alot of swamps but groomed well a little icy. Then to Copper HArbor was great just saw 2 sleds on the ride to Copper. I did go South of Rockland into Gogebic which was not good at all. Some was groomed but alot of swamps and early season so understand why it was not. I would of rode more but made the mistake of taking the Dream Land loop back to Twin Lakes. It was just horrible but could see why it was not groomed or attempted to be. After that I just loaded up and drove 7 hours home I was beat and wanted no more and missed my 700 mile goal for the weekend. Ps Monday I saw more groomers then sledders thanks to everyone that made a great weekend for me.

The Cashier at Nordines in Watersmeet shook my hand said I was his first rider of the year.

harvest,
Did you mean the Freda loop to Twin Lakes? Dreamland is a local trail that runs from Lake Linden to Gay and is "groomed" with a snowmachine and drag.

Any update on this area? Maybe looking to trailer up next week, looking at place in Bruce Crossing. Did it survive the Christmas storm? Just trying to figure out what to expect before we make the long drive.

Thanks!

We r staying in Calumet til Friday. Plenty of snow on the ground, and new snow has been all falling each day. Come up, you won't regret it. More snow as you get north of Mass City.
