Just got back from riding last two days in western UP. Most trails are good for early season, especially north of the bridge. Snow is thin but rideable out of rockland, but vey little grooming going on south of Greenland/mass city. The Greenland side of Trail 13 was groomed for the first time yesterday and still needs work the twin lakes side has been groomed several times and is in much better shape. Trail 3 is very good from mass to bridge with groomers running day and night. With the current trail closures north of bridge your loop options are limited, but the trails that were open were real good for early season. The mat is down and there is plenty of snow on it. We saw 6 groomers yesterday in 180 miles between the hours of 11am -7pm.
In a nut shell if you see any signs that a groomer has been on the trail you want to ride I would ride it. There is usually a reason a groomer is not on a trail in early season
