Yes its safe for riding south of CR 22. I grew up riding it. We don't run it much any more but its a nice little run. Anoka has parking off the river for sleds but not trailers. You could park your rig at the SRO bar in Oak Grove. There's plenty of parking and a spur trail to the river.
